Saxbys Gives Team Members an Hour Off to Vote
Election Day is right around the corner, but far too many people will just stay home rather than voting. Did you know:
- In November 2016, 40 percent of eligible voters did not cast a ballot in the United States elections.
- In the 2014 midterm elections, just 33 percent voted — setting a dubious record for the country’s lowest turnout in any national election since 1945.
- In Philadelphia, where we call home, millennials made up just 8 percent of the voting block in the most recent election cycle.
We know we can do better. That’s why Saxbys is compensating an hour to any team member who goes out and votes, whether they’re scheduled to work or not. We know it can be difficult to find your polling station, stand in long lines and do all the other tasks on your plate that day. It’s a little encouragement to our team members to participate in a very important day.
We don’t care what political affiliation you are, we just want you to vote.
Don’t forget, Election Day is November 6th, so get out there and make your voices heard!
